Intake Manifolds
HyTech has many different types of Intake manifolds to choose form. The standard Honda RBC plenum manifold. HyTech version of the RBC has a welded on flange to accommodate the stock RSX 62mm throttle body up to a 70mm throttle body as well. HyTech uses the weld on flange because it gives a better entrance flow to the #1 runner. After the new flange is welded in place it is ported inside to remove any intrusions into the manifold that will upset air flow.
HyTech also offers its own intake manifold casting. It looks similar to the stock manifold only in outside appearance. The internals have been totally changed to get more air into the runners. It has full radius openings and a larger plenum to accommodate the bigger engines with the needed air flow they demand. It can use the stock 62mm throttle body all the way up to a 70mm one as well.
HyTech’s ITB’s (Individual Throttle Bodies) are designed to fit under the hood and also use the power steering unit in the RSX’s. They come is 48mm, 50mm 52mm and 54mm sizes. They use the Jenvy throttle bodies out of Europe. Since they are individual units there is no idle problems associated with them like other that use a common shaft.
For the racer where there is not need fore the power steering pump the manifold is straight instead of dog legged. That produces the line of site form the throttle body air horn to the back side of the valve.
HyTech also supplies a vacuum canister for it ITB. The vacuum canister houses the Map sensor which is needed for tuning. The canister is made from 6061 Aluminum. And has multiple bosses for other vacuum sources.
HyTech also offers custom built sheet metal intake manifolds for any application. These are highly sophisticated intake manifolds with some of the most contemporary design features found. For road race and drag racing. |
