We use Honda cranks for most of our needs. The material that Honda uses is a superior steel forging and they can with stand a lot of abuse. Strokes range in size from the stock 86mm to 99mm. We also have a custom finish process that lightens the rod throw side for more counter weight balance. And we coat them with an oil shedding process to keep the oil off the crank. We do not believe in taking weight off the counter weights. Doing this removes material that is needed to keep the crank harmonics down. To light and they flex and twist and this leads to bearing problems and broken parts The thinking is the lighter they are the less mass you have to spin. That is fine for reving them up with no load but not for running them in the real world. Having more counter weight mass keeps the engine spinning higher during shifts, and launch’s the car with more inertia. We also have custom Billet cranks available as well for severe conditions.
